The french master´s student is here, so tomorrow we will go explore Cuernavaca together Safety in numbers. He speaks less spanish than I do, so I may not be royally screwed. Fingers crossed.
Not going to Acapulco, not enough energy and it seems like a lot of time on a bus. The academic advisor says I have 5 months, lots of time to explore later!
Pool is far too cold to swim, so very frusterating.
The filtered water isn{t so bad. Not as good as north Calgary water, but better than south.
The moon is crocked in the sky, lying on it´s back.
I miss home.

Sorry, I had to move macines so read the following entry first.
Anyways, this girl (who¨s name I¨ve blanked on) took me to Scotia so I know have 2500 pesos, which is impressive in hundreds, I can tell you that! It´s just a pain to get to so I took about 350cad out. The she took me to a supermaket, where for 170 pesos (25 bucks cad) I got 18 eggs and a tomato and a green pepper and torillas and 4L of coke and 3 pastries and cheese and crackers and rice and more good things. Cheap, in other words.
I guess that{s about it. Hasta Luego, yall.
So. I´m here, sitting in front of an odd keyboard in La Teq´s comp lab, trying not to touch time with the extra keys (like ´, which is beside the p, not where the ñ key is. and that the shift key is half wide and has an arrow on it. Little things.)
Let´s see... I live in a room with a south facing window which means sun on my bed in the morning (great idea john). I climb up a tight spiral staircase wroght (sp?) staircase which has a two story tall bush growing onto it. I{m not unpacked, though there are two suitcase open and scattered on the floor. There is no chest of drawers, just a large cupbard with a bar and a shelf, so it looks like a partially suitcase life for me. The famliy has been very nice, very helpful. They fed me dinner and breakfast, talk to me, are very kind. The (great) grandmother gave me a necklace-bracelet pair that she made herself = i chose black and clear, it´s very sparkily. The school has a gym and a pool and a library and (obviously a computer lab) and an international student office and a cafeteria and... The house has a pool too. I tried to go for a swim but it was too freaking cold. It gets chilly here at night (8oc) and the pool takes a while to warm up.
Mexico city is unreal. Larger than large and with a volcano watching over it. It was smoking white as my plane aproached - a turbulent welcoming? So huge, colourful. There is endless buildings, so many painted vibrant colours. Pink, green, yellow, lime, cerulean, white... Street markets with similar coloured coverings, like one street all in pink I say from the air, and later from the ground.
There were plane delays on the leaving ends, but not on the arrival ends. The winds were with me. Driving from the airport took 45 minutes of city driving, and 45 of out-of-Mexico City driving until the bus station in Cuernavaca, where Laura the (grand)mother of house picked me up. There is a daughter about my age who took last semster off to have a chubby little baby girl, (amusingly to those from Vanier) name Sophie (of maybe Sophia, they seem to use both). Laura asked if I¨¨d rather have a french of american roommate, i picked french.
I was in denile about going to mexico while on the plane, which is just too stupid. I was up for 36? hours yesterday, between waking up on tues at 1130 am and leaving for toronto at 100am wed and not sleeping on the plane (even though I tried!) and getting to mexico at 1pm wed and catching a bus and then getting here at 430ish and then seeing the house and then trying to nap (getting maybe an hour in) and finally finally falling asleep with difficulty at 1120ishpm wed. So a long and emotional day.
Today, Laura fed me breakfast and then I went to school and they gave me a chica to drive me around and ´be my friend´ and so on.
